Volunteer Appreciation Night

I want to take a moment and say something that I don’t say enough:

Thank you.

So much of what God is doing in and through our church happens because of your faithfulness—week in and week out. You serve, you show up, you give your time and energy, and you help create a place where people can encounter Jesus. We see it. And we’re deeply grateful for it.

Because of that, we want to celebrate you.

On Sunday night, May 3rd from 6–8pm, we’re hosting a Volunteer Appreciation Comedy Night—and this is for anyone currently serving at CCV or anyone in the process of jumping in and getting involved.

 And it’s going to be a really fun night.

We’ve invited our CCV friends, Hypnotizing America performers Tim and Michelle Miller, to come and host a comedy hypnotism show. Tim, a former head football coach at La Salle University, now travels all over the country with Michelle bringing a lighthearted, laughter-filled experience—and yes, they even bring their dog, Boo Boo, who tends to steal the show.

But even more important than what they do—is who they are.

Tim and Michelle were baptized right here at CCV.

They’ve led small groups in our church.

And they are devout, Bible-believing followers of Jesus—just like us.

Let me also speak to something upfront, because I know for some this may raise questions.

This is not satanic. This is not the occult. This is not spiritual manipulation.

What Tim and Michelle do is best understood as comedic audience participation and heightened suggestibility—people willingly engaging in a fun, controlled environment for the sake of laughter. No one is losing control, no one is being spiritually influenced, and nothing is happening outside of a person’s own awareness or consent.

As followers of Jesus, we’re called to be discerning—but also free.

And there is a category in the Christian life for joy, laughter, and shared celebration.

This night falls squarely in that category.

We want this to be an evening where you can exhale, laugh hard, and be reminded that serving Jesus together is not just meaningful—it’s also deeply joyful.

• Childcare will be provided

• This is completely free

• And we do need you to sign up in advance so we can plan well
